Countdown To Halloween Day 14

It's coming!

There's a chill in the air and the scent of wood smoke. Dry leaves cover the sidewalks and rustle underfoot. The trees are turning glorious colors. Darkness falls ever earlier.

And my neighbors are just starting to put out their decorations.

Halloween's a-comin' (click to embiggen)!

(cast iron, by the way)

I'll have some more pics this weekend--some of the Halloween tableaux do not photograph well by flash. That, and for some reason people become a little disturbed when a big, hulking guy dressed mostly in black shambles towards their yard at 10:00 p. m. They seem a little nervous and clutch their cell phones as if they were pieces of the True Cross and I, being the epitome of discretion (while acknowledging that should the police be called I might wind up in Big Boy jail) figure it's best to move on.

See what I do for y'all?

That's the perfect Richmond crime zone decoration, a mummy coming out the ground holding two bags of white powder.

@JSam: yes, you had best! And it better be elaborate and it better be spooky ad it better be documented!
