Easter On Parade

So I decided to check out Richmond (VA)'s "Easter on Parade" since it was a nice Spring day and I had nothing better to do. This is an annual tradition wherein the city cordons off a few blocks of Monument Avenue and allows the locals to strut their stuff.

The crowds were ENORMOUS...

...but no one needed to break out the loaves and fishes
because there were plenty of concession stands offering
all sorts of delectables, including the traditional funnel cake.

Some of the residents prepped their lawns nicely for the festivities...

...while the ladies decorated themselves with Easter bonnets.

Should anyone be hungry, there was funnel cake...

...and a watering spot for dogs...

...who also sported an array of bonnets.

There was a fire juggler on a unicycle...

...a living Easter bunny...

..and a, uh, statuesque, Easter bunny...

...and funnel cake!

All of which, ultimately, led us to the true meaning of Easter:

Model dinosaurs on model cargo ships.
