I liked Patrick, but I always got the feeling that his characters (and indeed he) were not to be trifled with. I think I first saw him in Disney's "Three Lives of Thomasina" in its original theatre run. There was something unreadable in his face, a bit beetle-browed with something of a smirk for a smile, and that lovely tendency to mumble lines in that croaking brogue just before exploding. I watched "Ice Station Zebra" Monday in tribute. I know from an early age that I really liked that face.
Oh no, I did not hear this. :-(
ReplyDeleteYeah, I'm not exaggerating in the least when I said I was sad, especially since I didn't know until the day afterwards.
