Alfred Hitchcock Presents (half hour and full hour doses), Tales From the Darkside, Night Gallery (where they're still tearing down Tim R's Bar)and neat spookie movies (although edited and full-screen). Makes me wanna be sick so I can stay home and drink diet gingo-ale throught a straw and luxuriate on the comfy sofa! Not really, just glad you're better.JSaMhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08362142680439802535noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4315519825552066003.post-22093761344166656512008-03-06T13:46:00.000-05:002008-03-06T13:46:00.000-05:00Oh, and another thing--daytime TV does, indeed, su...Oh, and another thing--daytime TV does, indeed, suck. In the very worst way.

Lately, every time I get to watch TV on a weekday (rarely), I'm appalled at how horrible and soul-numbing it is. Here in Chicago, Oprah comes on at 9:00 am, and that's hit or miss. After that, there is nothing at all worth watching until Jeopardy (which comes on at 3:30 here). If one is lucky, one of the movie channels may have something worth watching, but even on THOSE channels, the worst schlock movies nobody's ever heard of are scheduled during weekday hours.

It's a great excuse for spending the time reading, but if you're really sick, sometimes just about all you can do is sit and veg--which is where TV comes in mighty handy.

I think this is one reason we keep amassing DVDs. To have to avoid daytime TV.

By the way, if you have not had the pleasure yet, check out Slings & Arrows--a 3-season series from Canada that recently came out on DVD.
